Recipe of the day is from the Ford Times Cookbook (1968). Cherry Rhubarb Sauce recipe from Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, California.
Wash, do not peel, 1 pound cherry rhubarb; add 2-1/4 cups water and 1-1/2 cups sugar. Cook in open kettle 1-2 minutes after it boils; time will depend on condition of rhubarb. If lid is placed on the kettle, the rhubarb will mash. Let stand a few hours before serving, so the rhubarb will absorb the sugar from the juice.
