I blew the budget on this smalls Fenton handpainted signed ceramic rooster at On a Mission Thrift Shop in Sutter Creek, California ($18). He was marked $25, but I asked for the good neighbor discount (and they loved haggling). At less than three inches tall, he is the perfect addition to my kitchen windowsill.
In preparing the garden, it meant a trip to Rancher's Outlet in Plymouth, California, for bales of straw. And what did those three little piggies make their houses out of? While I over-extended on the rooster ceramic, the vintage piggy salt and pepper shakers with reclining toothpick holder were three for only $1.25! I had to have them ~
Zipper is ready to help spread the straw in the garden paths. Just wait until you see the finished result!
How do you keep your garden paths weed free?
