Day 23 of 30 days of photographs (Underwater) and blue ~

Sashimi, my Siamese fighting fish, most def underwater and blue.  My fellow photogs who are underwater.

My house in midtown Sacramento - underwater, let's see what the BANK will do.  It is enough to make one  blue.

"In the lives of the saddest of us there are bright days when we feel as if we could take the great world in our arms. Then come the gloomy hours, when all without and within is dismal, cold, and dark.  Believe me, every heart has its secret sorrows, which the world knows not; and oftentimes we call a man cold when he is only sad."
Longfellow

  1. This was a lovely post Tami! Your Siamese fighting fish brought to mind the ones my daughter used to have when she was young, and I could definitely relate to your "blue" feelings about finances. Your quote was perfect, it fits so many folks I know well, and me at times too. Life can be really hard at times, painful too, but always, ALWAYS there is hope! :-) Thank you much for joining me at Two Shoes Tuesday!

    1. I so love quotes and poetry. I glean many of my quotes from "The New Dictionary of Thoughts" published in 1960.

I am posting another Longfellow quote on 10/29 - it will fit in perfectly with that post - be sure to check back!

  9. Siamese fighting fish make great classroom pets because they're so hardy. Maybe if Spike bites it, I'll get a Siamese next.

    1. Sashimi must be 4 years old now. My daughter had one that lived at least 7 or 8 years.

  13. I love the colors that you captured in your photo. Don't even get me started on big banks, mortgage companies and their dishonest actions. One of my best friends recently lost her home. She offered to pay her back payments but they insisted she pay an unrealistic amount which they said was owed them for penalties. She just let it go rather than give them any more money. What they are being allowed to do to homeowners is the worst crime of the century. Hope you have a happy ending with your home.

  18. Tami, your Lonfellow quote meant a lot to me today. And that's all I'm saying, except that I like your fish as much as its possible to like any fish. It's pretty.

  21. A good write about a not good situation, Tami. We had 32 inches of water in our house in 1979 and it was no fun.

BTW, my Blues post is about a 1969 song.
