Colorful August images

P.J. at hoohaablog.com hosts a monthly blog challenge and the theme for August is COLORFUL.  How could I resist that topic.  Earlier in the month, there was a break in the usually intense Sacramento summer heat that resulted in an overcast day - perfect for photography.
