I hadn't brought out my Christmas village in a couple of years for display. All were purchased at thrift. I am especially fond of the fishing-related ones.
What have I been doing in my retirement bliss? These days listening to my rescued thrift shop holiday CDs, and listing sewing patterns on eBay. This recent cutie arrived in a mystery box of "bundle of fabric" from my fav online secondhand goods shopping site. I will highlight the rest of that mystery box purchase on my Year in Review post.

Another fun item I just listed for sale - these Iron-On Christmas Transfers.
Recipe of the Day is from Jingle Bells and Pastry Shells (1968)
BRANDY SNAPS
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 oz. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. brandy
Melt butter with sugar, syrup, and ginger in a saucepan. Remove from heat and sift in flour. Add brandy and stir. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet, leaving space for rounds to form. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 8 to 15 minutes.
