The Twelve Days of Crafting
Selected text from Jessie Whitby's tribute
Crafts Magazine, November 2001
On the twelfth day of crafting, these things were made by me:
12 new tree trimmings. Admittedly, I have been buying thrifted decorations for this year's celebration.
11 fancy wrappings. Now, I mainly use wrapping as a background for images.
10 cards a-stamping. I'm not a stamper, for those who love it, have at it.
9 dozen cookies. My go-to homemade cookie is chocolate chip.
8 candles dripping. Hand-dipped ones wow.
7 chocolates dipping. Looks like homemade fudge is in my future.
6 wreaths a-hanging. I have a couple of thrifted ones.
5 new stockings. I hang the same old ones year after year.
3 glazed hams. One is enough for us.
2 silver bells. A thrift shop holy grail.
And a doily angel on the tree.
I finally ran into an estate sale in my town. The lady of the house had been a sewist/quilter. I could not be more delighted to release the vintage books I bought back in to circulation. Early Christmas present to myself was a blue project box, 3 sewing patterns, a few fabric remnants, a spool of dark blue Gutermann thread, scissors, and a way cool seam ripper.
