Oh Deer, it's Rural Thursday!

The deer posed for me the other night.  I stopped the car and captured these images.  Mr. VZ told me if I whistled the deer would look right at me.

The fawns still have their spots.

The Kindess Project and Wordful Wednesday

A Labor Day thrift shop sale resulted in my Volunteers apron for 50 cents.  I added a few fall silk flowers and ivy for this image.  When my work life and college life stop consuming so much of my time I will be  volunteering.

Posting thanks to Claire Hennessy for The Kindness Project idea.

The Kindness Project

I SHALL NOT PASS THIS WAY AGAIN

THROUGH this toilsome world, alas!
Once and only once I pass;
If a kindness I may show,
If a good deed I may do
To a suffering fellow man,
Let me do it while I can.
No delay, for it is plain
I shall not pass this way again.

That's a pretty hat!

I've been featured on Thats A Pretty Hat.  It is no secret I love hats in all forms and designs.  I have at least five straw hats, all types of caps, and one cowboy(girl) hat.

Muffy VanderCountry (dressed up especial for my hat debut!)

This past weekend's thrift shop finds from Thrift Town were this teal blue front beaded quarter-length sleeve sweater ($5.99) and Halloween Eeyore (69 cents). Eeyore will make an appearance later this month.  He has black velvet and green satin-lined bat wings and is holding an orange pumpkin as his trick or treat bag.

Friday's Frock and hoppity hops

Friday's Frock - showing off my Goodwill castro cap with peace sign embellishment (88 cents), Talbots lined chartreuse button-up short-sleeved sweater, Talbots laced-edged black t-shirt, Apt. 9 black and white print skirt (all TSFs) and Donald Pliner ballet flats (retail).  Sporting a chartreuse scrunchy on my wrist (don't you know that is what all the fashionistas wear?)  *grins*

Baby doll mugshot is vintage 8" Spanish comp boy doll currently bidding on shopgoodwill.com for $4.99.  He is an inmate at the Great Falls Goodwill in Great Falls, Montana.  Someone stole his sombrero, description reads, "It appears that he may have had a hat at one time."

I have some goals for my blog ~

1.  I would like to create a blog button.  Most difficult is choosing the right image.  The second is trying to fit the text onto that image (why didn't I choose a short blog name, like Read Me or Commando Tami?).  The third is that I run a dynamic view for my mobile readers.  I don't have the sidebars for all the extra goodies.

2.  I would like to do a vlog (a video blog entry), but not just any old vlog - something funny and quirky.  Of course, the whole thing would have to be scripted and rehearsed.  Oy vey!

3.  Guess it is time to truncate my blog posts - it seems there are "scrappers" in blogland that steal original content and make it their own.  I've seen the subject come up more than once, so I guess it is time.  Chic on a Shoestring Decorating, the first blog hop up, addresses the subject.

What goals do you have for your blog?

Rural Thursday

The original image is a barn along Paine Road in Amador County.  My go-to spot for photo effects is befunky.com - this is the cartoonized image.  What fun!

The season in California for upland game bird hunting has opened.

Right past where Mr. VZ is standing are the remnants of a homesteader's shack.  The green grass in the foreground is a natural spring.

Finally, rays of sunshine through the clouds - along Jackson Highway.

Rednesday

I started bumping into these images with RED, so yep, had to do it - linked in with Rednesday at It's A Very Cherry World

Visible Monday

I can't remember how I stumbled onto this blog Not Dead Yet Style but it seemed like a lark to join in for:

Click Here for Our Weekly Link-Up!

Just compose a post that includes any outfit, accessory, piece of jewelry, hairstyle, cosmetic or other adornment that makes you feel more confident, alive and visible that day.

I am going to rely on my rescued slide series to represent for me.

Do you remember this style?  I call this - Stylish Ladies.  Lurvs the black and white hat, the blue print scarf and the neon blue jacket (are those Ray-Bans?).  White-hatted lady sports a crystal bead necklace with matching earrings and a lapel pin brooch.

A compelling argument to always look your best, Exhibit 1 image above.  Exhibit 2 below, is a lesson in, well you decide ....

I found a couple of fall orange shirts and two CDs, Italian Intermezzo and Songs I Heard by Harry Connick, Jr., at Interfaith's Great Finds half off sale.  I was surprised to see they were open.
