Happy Valentine's Day, and Fabric Collections

I could not resist this Looney Tunes Pepe Le Pew tie found at thrift. It is beyond adorable.

I have been going through my quilt project bags and am discovering more and more pieces to incorporate into my quilts.

I pulled jelly roll strips, fabric precut to 2-1/2" width, from two different colorways. I am going to do a wide piano keys borders, one of my favorite ways to extend the sides on a quilt top.

Cowboy quilt continues along with the addition of three yards of bronco busting fabric. Some recent thrift shop purchase of quilt blocks worked in perfectly. This is the third quilt that the blocks have ended up on the outside of the borders rather than as centerpieces. The backing might become the front, but it doesn't matter as it really is a two-sided quilt.

I have already purchased the longarm quilting service so I have got to get her cowboy quilt on the road asap.

On the college front - I have read the entire textbook Women in Art with a month to go until the 8 week course begins on March 18. I updated my college major online with the Los Rios Community College District - now an official Art History major.

On the personal front - I rarely remember my dreams but the ones that I have been remembering revolve around money. One dream was three different instances where I discovered cash in thrifted books, and such (all dreams). The most recent dream, I found a $100 bill tucked in a sewing pattern (again, a dream). Our Mega Millions lotto was $425 Million. That is, of course, one BIG dream.

Happy Valentine's Day

It is that lovely time of year of hearts, flowers, and candies.

This cutie patootie Pattern of the Day from 1989 features heart frames and a few items for the She Shed.

Sharing the favorite corner of my remote office. The LEGO bird of paradise I put together last month. The 3 Matryoshka dolls, little red riding hood cookie jar, and the colorful oil on canvas painting were all thrift shop finds. The clock was from my mom, and the Dad's print was purchased retail. Dad's is Dad's Sandwiches in Sacramento, California. The painting makes me think of France.
And in the spirit of giving, all of my newly-listed items on eBay include a 10% charity donation to the Foothill Conservancy.

The Foothill Conservancy's mission is to protect, restore, and sustain the natural and human environment in Amador and Calaveras counties, California, for the benefit of current and future generations. We envision a future where rural character and scenic quality are preserved; agricultural lands, forest lands and open space are conserved; and the natural diversity and habitat of native plants and animals are protected and restored.

I chose this charity because it is the area where I live. I have had the good fortune, with large helpings of pluck and perseverance, finding extraordinary items to sell on eBay.

Happy Valentine's Day

Glad I kept my camo Build A Bear, I de-listed him on eBay when I was purging everything during lockdown. Earlier in the week, I found the Bee Mine costume at Goodwill for $5. The background fabric is what pre-Valentines eBay orders were wrapped in, and my mom made the card.

Added to my sewing room collection was this sweet oil on canvas painting $3 at thrift.

I like eBay's motto, "While new is nice ... it's twice the price."

I have moved into yet another phase of my reselling business. I obtained a Post Office Box. You have to list a return address on all packages. It was time to disconnect my home address from my business.

As things have eased up, I have made more of an effort to see my friends. I tend to keep to myself so add work isolation to that and it is not a good thing. I am scheduling lunches with friends at least once a month. It is good for the soul to be together and laugh with a friend.

Reseller update follows - here is what sourcing looks like. And that Chris Gaines/Garth Brooks rocker CD? I found it, this time one complete with CD.

I found a thrift that sells cards by the packet, rather than singly. I share those with my mom, she sends out twice as many cards as I do.

A present to myself, my pink pinwheel quilt came back from the longarmer. The only credit I can take for this one is to add side borders and bind it. I bought the quilt top for $8 at a flea market.

Ending the post with this fun find that joined my ever-growing collection of kitsch.
