I grabbed a few books for an eBay listing session and this Jell-O one fit the bill for the A to Z challenge letter J.
This dessert was served to family and friends at weekly Sunday brunches held at our house.
Cranberry Raspberry Jell-O
My favorite is sugar-free orange Jell-O with sliced bananas in it.

ReplyDeleteI didn't grow up with Jello "salads." The most my mother would do was lime Jello in the can of sliced pineapples. I loved the little round bit in the center of the pineapple ring! My kids hated that she always served that to them on "a bed of," as she put it, cottage cheese.
ReplyDeleteMy mother made Jello with fruit cocktail when I was a child. I am now 68 years old and still remember it. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ and warm greetings from Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦 😊
ReplyDeleteIn Australia we call it jelly (and what Americans call jelly is jam). It does make very pretty and refreshing desserts with fruit in it.

DeleteMy mother did make some savoury jellies - setting things in aspic (made from Carrageen, I think) and one year she made a jelly Christmas pudding - trifle meets Christmas Pudding...

I will never forget having a traditional Sunday Dinner (it's held in the afternoon) with a friend's cousins in rural Michigan... the "salad" was a Jello concoction with an optional topping of Cool Whip. I learned about corn tasseling (the main summer employment for the kids, not that I remember the purpose now).
