A to Z Challenge letter of the day is "I." For years I worked in law and management and identified as a manager or analyst. Now retired, I have formed a new identity. I am a dancer and artist. The post on tap dancing is queued up and the post on art was the "D" letter day. I went ahead and declared as an Art major. I have been a lifelong college student so that has always been part of my identity. In my drawing and composition class, we are exploring Ink Wash with India Ink. A first for me with this medium.
For those retired, have you formed new identities?

A to Z Challenge letter J is just about Jell-O.
Me, I've fallen deeper into my true identity as an artist.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the day job ghosting me during covid was the best thing to happen after all.
I think it more likely I've lost my former identities! All the time, yet never take the time to do the things I used to buy out time to do. Like art.
ReplyDeleteI'm not retired, but I irresponsibly have a new identity every year. I'm in a painting phase. Last year was photography. The year before that was yoga. I mostly paint landscapes, but my dad requested an alien so i just painted one of those... I'd like to travel when I retire, maybe that would be my identity then.
ReplyDeleteWhen I retired, I'll be the 'retired witch.' Actually, I haven't really thought about it maybe I'll have several new identities and keep adding them as time went on.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
When I retired I began writing, and as I've gone along in it, I took up the ukulele, watercolor and motorcycle (but since a fall unrelated to the bike I haven't been able to do it again yet). I like trying new things and always have enjoyed learning stuff. I was a first grade teacher, so I felt like I was always up for learning something new.
