The recipe reads as follows:
2 cups brown sugar or substitute 1 cup Splenda brown sugar mix
1/2 cup molasses
2-1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 cup shortening (I use the sticks)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix wet ingredients, add dry ingredients. Roll into ball with teaspoon and roll in sugar. Smash slightly with fork tines. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
