Day 19 topic - Never AND Talk Like A Pirate Day

Combining International Talk Like A Pirate Day with 30 Days of Photographs IV, day 19 topic of "Never." There are some that say they will NEVER talk like a pirate.  There are others that would say they would NEVER dress Harajuku.  Walk to gangplank over to Ziva's Inferno to see the NEVERS of the others.

I always change my Facebook "language" to pirate for this day.

This piece of sheet music I discovered at Valoo Villawjhe (Value Village), in keeping with the pirate theme.

I officially joined #teamlame on this one - an unsuccessful combination of two concepts.

Muffy VanderPirate and Talk Like a Pirate Day - September 19th

In celebration of International Talk Like A Pirate day, Muffy is wearing her VanderPirate outfit.  Every item in this picture is a thrift shop find.  My "keeper" props are the balsam boat, the metal treasure chest, anything with a skull and crossbones and the mini-sword in the scabbard strapped to Muffy's waist.

As an aside, for those on Facebook, you can choose "Pirate" language for the day.

What does Talking Like a Pirate and Krispy Kreme Donuts have in common?  Well, Fantabulously Frugal has posted this 'splanation.

Krispy Kreme free doughnut

"Stop by your local Krispy Kreme, speak like a pirate, and get rewarded with a free glazed doughnut. No purchase is necessary.
Thankfully Krispy Kreme provided some suggested phrases. They include things like:
  • Ahoy Matey
  • Heave Ho
  • Sea Dog
  • Thar She Blows!
If you are REALLY into this pirate thing, if you DRESS like a pirate (and this means more than an eye patch) you will get a DOZEN FREE DOUGHNUTS.
This offer is only valid on September 19, 2012 at participating locations. You might want to call your local Krispy Kreme ahead of time to verify participation, particularly if you plan on dressing in complete pirate regalia."
Happy Pirateness!

Seattle World's Fair 1962, Part Deux

Seattle World's Fair 1962, Part Deu.  Here is the link to my first set of images regarding the Seattle World's Fair 50-year-retrospective-photos-from-1962

Funny I should run into this exact doll this month for sale at the thrift shop.  I have the same one, packed away safely in my cherished keepsakes.

My brother, my mom and me on the bench at the Fair.

Interesting that in these images the majority of the ladies are wearing skirts or dresses and flats.

My father makes a rare appearance in the below picture, he is the one with the white jacket, wearing glasses and carrying a camera ~ just strollin' on by daddio.

Three months of summer blog challenges, two personal photography challenges and a writing challenge have certainly kept me out of trouble.  Back to the books, I am taking two online classes this fall semester, one management and one sociology.

There are a few specialized posts I've got coming up, the first is one for International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19th - ya gots to have fun with that one!
