Bridal Party Quilt Collection

Bridesmaid Haley will be the recipient of the National Park quilt. When you have to put together quick projects, preprinted fabric panels are the way to go. I had this panel in my stash for 5 years.

Bridesmaid quilt for Meghan began as Country Fair quilt then morphed into Camper Quilt.

Striped fabric binding are one of my favorites. I keep all striped fabric I find at thrift. 

I bordered it with a camper print fabric then had it quilted in a yellow camper design. 

Meghan is also expecting a girl so the fairy print and camper fabric will be really cute!

An eclectic blend of dog prints backed in the colorful paw print fabric. Cross-hatch quilted on a home machine. 

Next up will be binding the crib quilt for my daughter's baby due in early December. 

Bridal Party Quilts, Part Four

I am on my way to completing gift quilts for the bridesmaids. One has been gifted to the maid of honor, one is at the longarm quilter in Kansas, and one will be on its way.  

For this project, I utilized a full Riley Blake National Parks panel. This fabric grouping has been in my stash for a few years. Why reinvent the wheel? This also fits into bridesmaid Haley's outdoorsy interests of camping and dirt biking.  

I trimmed and sashed up the X blocks. Then I hated it. ASR (angry seam ripping) ensued. I knew better than to try and sew the blocks in sections rather than singly. Another project abandoned. Gonna thrift them back. This is the second attempt to spin something wonderful from these blocks. 

Two months to go until the wedding day, and there is time to make the plaid quilts. Here is my tub-full of plaid fabric from my offsite storage. 

Gonna call these quick and dirty quilts, I will match up the plaids in the same colorway and cut squares to either 6 or 8 inches.  

After all of the bridal party gift quilts are completed, I will post the entire collection. 

Bridal Party Quilts, Part Three

This redwork flimsy I created some years ago. The applique flowers need to be sewn down and some borders added to make it throw sized. Because of the extra work involved, I won't be adding it to the bridal party quilt collection. 

What I will be adding to the gift quilts is this X blocks version. I began this project God knows when. Time for it to realize its full potential.  

Another easy peasy finish will be these batik stars (with one outlier). Both of these sets of quilt blocks were created by a mystery quilter. 

Tried to spin another dog prints version of a pet/car quilt. I created four patches of dog-themed fabric. Then, it stalled. Since I am on a short time limit, I don't have time to ponder whether these will work or not. I thrifted them back to the Great Thrift Shop Beyond. 

None of these bridal party quilts are going to be masterpieces in pieced patchwork. I resort to four patches bordered in fabric. If I want to get fancy with quilt borders, my favorite is piano key. The first of the collection has been sent off to the longarm quilter in Kansas. 

As an aside, I have battling with Blogger. It has been up, it has been down. I am wondering whether I will have to switch platforms. 

Bridal Party Quilts, Part Two

Bridal Party Quilts series Part Two features the Catsville line of fabric. Here is the flimsy progress, but I want to make it bigger. 

To counteract all of that bright orange, I  Ordered 2 more yards of the Catsville Prism Meadow for wide borders to finish out the project. I may end up keeping this quilt, as all of the bridesmaids are dog lovers. 

Just these two projects are chewing through my fabric stash. Especially with the backings. My goal is to winnow down my stash to only fabric collections. One of my favorite designs - Moda Fabric Grunge. After I get bucks ahead, I plan on ordering mucho yardage of that design in many colors. 

While I am waiting for the green fabric to arrive, I began Part Three of the Bridal Party Quilts project. Fabric pull for the dog-themed pet/car quilt. Not sure if I can marry these fabrics successfully. 

I also have enough fabric for another cat-themed pet/car quilt for a future project. 

The bridal shower is fast approaching being held on Saturday, August 2nd. 

Bridal Party Quilts, Part One

I hope this collection will be a 3-part series at the very least, 6-part series would be ideal. These first three will be gift quilts to the bridesmaids. The maid of honor will be receiving her quilt at the bridal shower in August. pet-quilt-for-molly 

Part 1 - Country Fair Quilt top

I used another cheater panel for the center of the quilt. The fabric also included the four cornerstones. 

I am going to prep these tops with their backings. Thinking of sending the whole lot to my quilter in Kansas. 

Part 2 - Catsville quilt

These are remnants of a Catsville bedsized quilt gifted to a niece. Just adore this print!

Seller update - ran my year-end numbers for my sales on eBay and sales are down 25%. 

I tend to let the store slide during the summer. Not too many things being listed.
