Baby girl quilt top

I used a cheater panel for this project. I was inspired by another quilter that I follow. While I don't have many Kaffe Fassett fabrics, I know she has been collecting for a long time. Link to her version of a baby quilt exuberant pastel. exuberantcolor.blogspot.com

Detail of the baby girl quilt top. I popped in the crazy quilt blocks originally created for the dinosaur quilt. Color Me Happy purple fabric fat quarter was a recent thrift shop find.

Before I settled on the flimsy shown above, I had a Woodsie Pals fabric fail. I supplemented the stax with other nursery flannels. I even added sashing to the blocks. I just wasn't feeling it. The two sewn panels will be thrifted back.

The backing is in the comfy flannel print and will be quilted by my usual longarmer in Kansas.

The baby shower won't be until October/November. I am getting a jump on the project so it will be ready in time.
